Hello From Dublin

Hello Everyone
It is 6.00a.m. on Saturday morning and of course I am wide awake. Luckily I don't suffer too badly from jet lag. Have had two bouts of good sleep 9hrs-thenTV/ate something/then back to 8hrs sleep. Now I feel fine so thought if I could access the blog and chat.
Flight was as expected L O N G. I was lucky though it was in three bits not two. Jo(my sister) was right. We did stop at Singapore then Abu Darbi and finally Dublin. Strange because it wasn't on my documents.Maybe because of the change to Thursday instead of Saturday. The first part Brissie/Singapore I had both seats to myself-great. Singapore/Aby Darbi I had a 4 year old whose parents believed in total indepenance!!!!!!!! Then Abu Darbi/Dublin I had lovely irishman who was as big as me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No comment. Anyway got here and got through everything with no hassel. Irish imigration was interesting- details on my return.Walked straight out of airport and found hotel shuttle.
Checked in hotel(they were great) and let me into room straight away. Decided to go for a walk about an hour then dropped in at local shopping centre. After shopping(food) went in search of a bus that went near hotel as I had walked enough and is was RAINING. Funny that! Asked a lady for directions .She explained but after walking away she came after me and offered to drop me back at the hotel if I waited while she went to the butcher!! Of course I accepted. She was absolutely beautiful. Tell you more on return.
God has been so good to me. I just find to so hard to believe all the good things and symbols that have been part of the past three weeks. I really am meant to be here.
Well this is not bad for my first overseas blog. Now to post hmmmmmmmmmmmm

Cheers all- till later.
Keep well and smiling everyone- love you all.

Anne's Early Launch

Hi Everyone

Today I was contacted by Etithad Airlines. They wanted me to consider bringing my flight to Dublin forward from Saturday to Thursday. As I had no big reason to say no I have agreed so now I take off on my adventure on Thursday at 12.15p.m. two days ahead of my original flight.

Actually this really is what I wanted when first considering this journey. It now means I have two days to explore Dublin on my own before going off on the coach tour around the entire coastline of Ireland.

All of you who have helped me hone my IT skills over the years should be proud of the patience and tuition you gave me. After getting off the phone from the airline I then had to consider accomodation for two nights I did not have booked. After trolling the internet for hotels and B/Bs I have chosen a good hotel with reasonable prices. It has public transport outside its front door so I'll be fine.

Graeme(my brother-in-law) I will drink to your birthday somewhere over Darwin. Happy Birthday you are a great brother-in-law even though you are my only one !!!!!

School friends and peers while you have late lunch on Friday and Angela you are stretching your legs at yoga I will be sipping on a cocktail in Dublin.

I have one request everyone please a few prayers for a safe, secure and comfortable flight. Especially the first leg Brisbane to Abu Darbi- 17.05hrs. This will test my theory about this airline's seats.

Must away now to pack in earnest. Keep well everyone and I will post you all again in two days time-Friday night. That is if I haven't given in to jet lag!!!

Cheers

Anne
PS Helen I hope I passed your spelling inspection!!!!!!!!!

Beginning in Earnest

Hi everyone,

Well now our wee volcano has lessoned giving attention to itself I feel much more confident my dream may come true. Some of you know my life motto for 2010 is "Suck it up and build a bridge". Hope you are laughing because that is what those words have done for me each time I have faced something not to my taste. Well this recent eruption was going to be the real test!!!

Anyway on we surge. Packing has started in earnest and today I made the big step of deciding which way I was going to go re monies. Now that was an interesting exercise despite much research to be aware. The banks get you don't they no matter what you do hey! However there are" no pockets in heaven" so I am going to have a smashing time.

Part of my packing now has four different contact addresses in Ireland. Funny how all of a sudden you seem to become aware of different people in the country you are visiting. Scott has contacted me and is endevouring to come to join me in Dublin for a day or so. It will be great to see him and find out how he is going. He was caught in Turkey with the recent eruption but has returned back now.

Mary-Anne and I have just realized we will be in Ireland at the same time and so are going to meet up for a day in Killarney.

We live in wonderful times. Chat again before I go.

Cheers (literally)

Anne
